Book a daytime skate in the glorious winter sun or come in the evening and take in the beautiful surroundings of Coventry Cathedral Ruins, surrounded by twinkling lights.
Grab some friends or bring the family along to glide around this winter wonderland. Warm up after your skate with a hot drink and cake, just £4.50 when you book with your tickets.
Age guidance: 5+ years, under 12s must be accompanied by a skating adult.
Make sure you arrive 30 minutes before your skate time to give yourself plenty of time to get your skates on and join the ice. If you want to book a child’s penguin skate aid or a locker, please do at the Tickets & Info cabin on St Michael’s Lane that before entering the ice rink area.
Spectators are welcome, you don’t need a ticket, and you can access the food and drink area by the Queen’s steps, opposite the New Cathedral entrance.

What does Christmas look like to you?
ANOTHER CHRISTMAS is a new film shining a light on those who don’t fit into traditional boxes. Through new compositions, interpretations and new arrangements of classics and by covering a number of different real life stories, ANOTHER CHRISTMAS hones in on the collective feeling of the outsider as an antidote to the pressures of a commercialised Christmas.

Choose from a range of drinks including hot chocolate, coffee and tea plus a range of cakes including a festive mince pie. Simply add one per person to your basket when booking your skating tickets and redeem the voucher at the event with our partners Cabbucino.

To make Coventry Glides a fun and enjoyable experience for all, we ask you to follow these simple guidelines:
We recommend you wear gloves on the ice and thick socks.
Skaters must be aged 5 or above, and skaters under 12 years old must be accompanied by a skating adult.
Children under 5 are not allowed on the ice, but are welcome to watch with an adult 18+ from the spectator area.

For school sessions, tickets are £5 per pupil with 1 supervisory adult per 10 pupils free of charge and tickets are priced from £5 for public sessions.
We want everyone to enjoy skating in the ruins this festive period. We understand that if you have access requirements, you might not be sure if the ice rink is for you. We're committed to ensuring people with additional support or access needs are catered for, at this and all of our events. Booking tickets
Tickets are priced from £5. Pre-booking recommended. Book early for best prices. If you require a Personal Assistant, their ticket is free of charge.
Accessible sessions
All sessions have step-free access. Our access route for wheelchairs and anyone who cannot use the stairs is via the Bell Tower entrance.
Skate aids
If you want to hire a penguin (a child’s skating aid) these have a restricted height requirement. They will be available to hire at Coventry Glides at a cost of £4 by visiting the ticket and information cabin on St Michaels Lane just before your skate session. We recommend arriving early as they are issued on a first-come-first-served basis.
Lockers
If you wish to put your belongings in a locker, while you skate, the locker token can be purchased at the ticket and information cabin on St Michaels Lane. A locker token costs £1.
Getting there
There is a 200-metre step-free walk from Pool Meadow bus station.
Visitors can be dropped off at University Square and Priory Lane.
Accessible parking
There is no car parking at Coventry Cathedral Ruins. The nearest car park is Grove Street car park which is located underneath the ring road. There are two Blue Badge parking bays on Bayley Lane which are first-come-first-served and a 110-metre step-free walk from the box office.
Accessing the venue
The entrance is under the bell tower and has step-free access. General access to the food and drinks area is via the Queens steps opposite the New Cathedral entrance.
While you’re here
Coventry Cathedral Ruins is entirely outdoors, so we recommend dressing warmly and checking the weather before your visit.
There are accessible toilets under the Queen’s steps (leading from Coventry Cathedral entrance up to the Coventry Cathedral Ruins).
There are three fire exit routes out of the venue. One has steps, and the other two are step-free.
Each session lasts one hour, which includes 40 minutes of skating time.
There will be music playing during sessions, at a maximum of 85 dB. There will be locker areas which will be quieter than on the ice.
You are free to leave and re-enter the venue during your session.
There will be colour wash lighting and moving lights around the ice.
There will be light refreshments available for purchase. Staff will make adjustments to serve disabled guests.
Assistance dogs can stay with their owners in the venue but are not allowed on the ice. Water bowls will be available, but if you think your assistance dog will need anything while they’re here, please bring this along. We can look after assistance dogs if necessary whilst you skate.
All staff at the venue will be given accessibility training. If you require any assistance our staff will try their best to help.
